Methodology & data sources

Charges data

All product and charge data comes from the Pensions Authority's PRSA Products and Charges register, published quarterly as an Excel workbook. The current dataset is June 2026, retrieved 2026-06-12 from the original file. Contains Irish Government Data licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence.

How the data is processed

  • The register has one hand-formatted sheet per provider. We parse it with automated scripts that locate each product by its Pensions Authority approval code (shown in the table) and read the published contribution and fund charges around it.
  • Many charges are tiered or conditional — different rates by contribution size, payment type, fund value, or distribution channel. We show these as a min – max range of the published figures, with the original wording preserved in the product's notes where it could not be reduced to numbers.
  • The ranges reflect the Authority's published maximum charging structures, not rates any individual may actually be offered (which can be lower, e.g. through an employer scheme or negotiated terms).
  • Products of suspended providers (codes beginning SUS/) are excluded.
  • Every quarterly refresh is reviewed by a human before publication, but transcription errors are possible — the approval code lets you find any product in the original workbook to verify.

Reference figures

Tax relief limits, the Standard Fund Threshold, State Pension rates, and My Future Fund parameters are maintained by hand from official Revenue and gov.ie pages. Each reference page shows its source link and the date we last verified the figure.

Ordering and neutrality

Tables default to alphabetical order by provider and product. Sorting by a charge column is available because charges are objective published figures, but no ordering on this site is a quality ranking or a recommendation. Products without a parseable figure sort last and show a dash.
