Privacy

Last updated: 1 September 2026

ComparePensions is a static information site. There are no accounts, no logins, and nothing to sign up for. This page sets out the only ways information about your visit is handled.

The fee calculator runs in your browser

The fee calculator asks for your age, your intended retirement age, your current fund value, your monthly contribution and an assumed growth rate. None of it is sent anywhere. The published charges register is built into the page itself, and the whole projection is arithmetic performed in your browser. The figures you enter are not transmitted to us, not transmitted to any provider, and not stored — close the tab and they are gone.

The filters on the comparison table work the same way: they only show and hide rows that are already on the page.

There are no quote forms, no lead-capture forms and no email signups anywhere on this site. We never ask for your name, address, PPS number or contact details.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see how many people use the site and which pages are worth maintaining. It sets cookies in your browser and records:

  • the pages you view and how long you spend on them
  • your approximate location, worked out from your IP address — typically the country or region, not your address
  • your device type, screen size, browser and operating system
  • how you arrived at the site, such as a search engine or a link elsewhere
  • clicks on links that lead away from comparepensions.ie, such as our links to the Pensions Authority, Revenue or the Central Bank registers

Google Analytics reports on visits, not on people we can name. It does not tell us your name, postal address or email address, and we make no attempt to identify individual visitors. Crucially, the numbers you type into the fee calculator are not part of this — they are never sent to Google Analytics or to anyone else. The analytics data is processed by Google on our behalf; see the Google Privacy Policy for what Google does with it.

If you would rather not be counted, Google publishes a browser add-on that turns Google Analytics off across every site you visit: Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Most browsers can also block analytics cookies or scripts in their own settings.

Links to other sites

We link out to official sources — the Pensions Authority, Revenue, gov.ie, the CCPC and the Central Bank registers — and to provider information. These are ordinary links: no referral codes, no tracking parameters, no redirect of our own, and we receive nothing if you follow them. As noted above, Google Analytics does record that an outbound link was clicked. Once you leave, the other site's privacy policy applies, not this one.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As with any web host, Cloudflare's servers log requests — including your IP address, the page requested and your browser's user agent — for delivery, security and abuse prevention. We keep no logs or database of our own.

Other third parties

Nothing else is loaded from elsewhere. There are no advertising scripts, no embedded videos or maps, no social media widgets and no comment system. The site's typeface is served from comparepensions.ie rather than a font CDN. The only third-party request the site makes is the Google Analytics script described above.

Contacting us about privacy

If you have a question about any of this, email contact@comparepensions.ie. If you are in the EU or the UK you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority — in Ireland, the Data Protection Commission.

Changes

If what the site does changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is updated.
